Vegetable industry forum proves popular
Spalford agronomist Tim Walker of Walker Ag Consultancy organised his first industry forum at Ulverstone on August 22 and got a great response. The room at The Pier was filled by local vegetable growers keen to learn as much as possible. They also heard Sam and Jenny Bailey's story as part of the day. Sam Bailey said he loved his visit to northern Tasmania where growers are enjoying a wonderful season. "It was nice to see lush green pastures and thriving crops," said Sam. "It was such a contrast to northern NSW where we live, where we are still in the grips of the worst drought in living memory." Tim Walker is pictured below with his family who helped organise and run the forum.
