Committed to rural Australia
Achmea Australia is a dedicated insurance company for the rural sector - with a fascinating history - which Sam and Jenny Bailey discovered when they spoke at the staff awards dinner on Wednesday night, November 21, at Miramare Gardens, Terrey Hills in Sydney. Achmea was established more than 200 years ago in the Netherlands, when 39 farmers put money into a glass jar, to be compensated in case one of them had a haystack fire. Those 39 farmers worked to support each other and minimise the risks and threats faced by each other's farms, not just their own. Their commitment to a truly co-operative approach to insurance expanded to Australia more than five years ago, and as Sam and Jenny discovered they now have an enthusiastic, very dedicated team spreading across rural and regional areas.
