Investing in future of Victorian industry
When it comes to doing its bit for the dairy industry the Gardiner Foundation is playing a unique role, investing in research and development, people and community development, plus providing industry engagement and strategic support to benefit the industry right across the state of Victoria. As part of its role in bringing community and industry together it held an annual lunch at the Novotel Hotel in Collins Street, Melbourne, on March 3, inviting past, present and future leaders together. Sam Bailey, supported by his wife Jenny, were guest speakers at the event. Sam said, "It was great to speak to participants at the lunch about the exciting times ahead for the industry. With a good season in most areas and prices for milk on the rise, there is plenty of optimism amongst producers after what has been a very challenging few years with deregulation, massive changes in industry ownership and structures, co-operatives failures, poor prices, droughts and fires."
