Rain adds a shine to drought ball

A storm blew in and sent guests running for cover, with tables, chairs and band equipment, at the Charters Towers Rural Recharge Ball on Saturday night, November 10. Sam and Jenny Bailey spoke at the ball which was inspired by the on-going three years of drought in the area and like everyone, they were delighted to see the heavens open on the night. When Sam Bailey took the microphone he said, "Just call me 'Buster'...'Drought Buster.'.." as the rain pelted on the roof of the undercover betting area at the Charters Towers Racecourse.
