St Arnaud and Maryborough host dinners

The season is looking amazing...or perhaps even a bit too wet in Central North of Victoria at the moment...but for the past three or four years things have been very different. The area has been facing crippling drought and it inspired the local Drought Operations Co-ordinator, Belinda Pritchard (pictured above front right) to organise dinners at St Arnaud (Two photos below) and Maryborough (photo above) to support  farmers and local communities who have been doing it tough. More than 120 people attended the two dinners, at St Arnaud on August 23 and Maryborough on August 24, which aimed to get people off their farms, give them a chance to catch up for a chat and hear Sam's talk. The events were funded by the state government's drought fund and local councils. Sam also spoke to The East Wimmera CWA conference at St Arnaud on the morning of August 24 (Bottom photo) and eight local schools during his week-long visit. See photos of the schools on the School Visits page.
